Why behind-the-wheel training matters

State law requires that you complete at least 6 hours of driver training with a professional instructor. Legally, you must do so before starting parent-/guardian-supervised practice driving.

Driving is one of the most dangerous things you’re likely to do on a daily basis, and it pays to know how to do it well. While it’s possible to obtain a license with just 6 hours of driver training, we strongly encourage you to complete 12 – 18 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. You’ll be a better driver for it!
